Getting started

What we need to scope the work

  • Existing asset list, even if incomplete
  • Data categories and client requirements
  • Authority approving the treatment method
  • Sites, physical access, and transport rules
  • Recycling or specialized-destruction requirements

Data, access, and validation

The method must fit the media type, data sensitivity, and client requirements. Pafuli does not present itself as a certified physical-destruction provider; specialized services are assigned to appropriate partners when required.

Questions

Questions about this service

What is the difference between erasure and physical destruction?

Erasure aims to make data unrecoverable using a method appropriate to the media. Physical destruction renders the media unusable and may require a specialized provider. The client-approved plan determines the method.

Are you certified to physically destroy drives?

No. Pafuli can document inventory, coordinate agreed erasure, and engage an appropriately qualified specialized provider when physical destruction is required.

Can you provide evidence for each device?

The register, identifiers, status, method, verification, and exceptions can be defined as engagement deliverables.
